Who I am

I’m Teo — an engineer and artist raised in Maine. Sculpture has recently captured my attention as a powerful way to turn ideas into tangible form. There’s something deeply satisfying about leaving a physical mark on the world — especially using materials as enduring as granite and steel.

Rock and metal are everywhere around us — industrial, geological, ancient — yet rarely reimagined as something more. I’m drawn to using these heavy, unyielding elements in ways that feel unexpected, even elegant. I want to convince people that a boulder can be more than a boulder — it can be a centerpiece.

My work explores balance, tension, and harmony through minimalist and often brutalist forms. I like pushing against the weight of these materials to make them feel light, or even floating — creating moments where a sculpture seems to defy gravity. Problem-solving and precision are core to my process; figuring out how to physically realize a visual idea is one of my favorite parts of creating.

Over time, I look forward to watching these sculptures weather. As steel rusts and stone grows to be a new home for moss and lichen, the work becomes part of the landscape — something strange and familiar at once, as if it’s always been there, or maybe came from another world entirely.
